UC can’t afford to lose any lecturers. No layoffs!

My name is Ed. I worked as a pre-six lecturer at UCLA and I have many friends who are working there now. For me, a June 30th lay-off means enormous pain and damage to my friends, and an enormous obstacle to my former students who rely on lecturers for real mentoring and guidance. The UC administration absolutely has the money to keep lecturers employed – they even have the money to give lecturers a huge raise. If the UC administration lays off lecturers, it would be pointless, and it would hurt everyone.
