My name is linzi. For me, a June 30th lay-off means extra stress as I learn how to teach online during a global health crisis.

I’d rather invest that emotional energy in students. They are also seeking some form of stability and normalcy, alongside their typical ucla-caliber education. i am proud I can build supportive learning environments via zoom, write letters of rec, facilitate partner programs with other departments, and mentor graduate students during these challenging, hard times. A June 30th layoff would mark a new low in higher education and a disregard for employees who, despite contingency and a pandemic, take pride in their service to the university.
