My name is Amm. This is my 4th year at UC Berkeley. For me, a June 30th lay-off means an uncertain future for my children.

I am on J-1 visa. A June 30th lay-off means I must leave the United States empty-handed. I have three children. A June 30th lay-off means complete uncertainty and disruption in their life. They cannot continue their education. My students also need me for their education. I am fully committed to teaching no matter the challenges. A June 30th lay-off means I can no longer contribute to the flourishing of my students’ lives. It means a break in my life’s mission.
