Layoffs Immediately Harm Students

My name is Joshua Fenton. This is my 15th year at UC-Riverside. For me, a June 30th lay-off means my writing program will be unable to teach all the courses my students need to progress through their freshmen year, potentially delaying their graduation dates and increasing the cost of their education. Also, pushing off the first set of composition classes will mean my students won’t be prepared for all the other class expecting critical reading and writing, presenting a further challenge to maintaining their motivation as their hike up any learning curve is made more and more difficult.
