Lay offs would increase class sizes and make learning more difficult for undergrads

My name is Dionne Martin. This is my 3rd year at UCR. For me, a June 30th lay-off means that I and many other students will have a decreased quality of education. Layoffs would be detrimental to not only undergraduates but graduate students as well who TA for professors. Class sizes are already 500 strong and layoffs will only increase class sizes. This will force TAs to work more for their classrooms than their own research. We also need to ensure we are respectfully paying our UC workers who maintain and run UCR facilities. Layoffs would overall decrease the quality of our education.
